Snorkeling

Half Moon Bay, just steps from The Beach House, offers top-tier snorkeling in Roatán’s protected marine park—expect to spot rays, turtles, eels, lobsters, barracuda, and more (a lucky few even spot tarpon by The Dock Bar!).
Cost: Free! Bring your own gear, or borrow first‑come, first‑served Mares sets from The Beach House.
Guided tours: Join a local guide on a tour of the island’s best spots—starting at US $35 per person depending on location count.
Dolphin Encounters
Dolphin Encounters
There are various types of interaction with the dolphins. You don’t need to be able to swim, and the activity can include people of all ages. You will be taken to dolphin’s island, home to a large family of Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins.
Where: Dolphin’s Island in Bailey’s lagoon (a short trip from The Beach House).
Cost: Starting from $65 per person plus the cost of transportation
Deep Sea Submarine Adventure
Deep Sea Submarine Adventure
Roatán hosts the world’s deepest tourist submarine experience. The “Idabel,” built and piloted by Karl Stanley, carries up to two passengers down beyond 600 m (700 ft+), offering a rare dive into pitch-black depths to observe bizarre deep-sea creatures, like six-gill sharks reddit.com.
Where: Half Moon Bay, just steps from The Beach House.

Sailing & Cayos Cochinos
Sailing & Cayos Cochinos
Charter a boat—choose from catamarans, fishing boats, or yachts—for half‑day, full‑day, or sunset trips. Most charters include food, drinks, and snorkeling gear.
Day sail to Port Royal on the island’s east side.
Trip to Cayos Cochinos (“Pig Islands”): explore vibrant reefs, snorkel, and visit the local Garifuna community.
Cost for Cayos: Starting at $225 per person; less for sunset cruises and shorter excursions.
Fishing
Fishing
Roatán is well-known for its fishing and is home to one of the largest annual fishing tournaments in the world. In addition to deep-sea fishing (wahoo, mahi-mahi and black fin tuna are frequently caught, and occasionally yellow fin tuna, blue marlin and sailfish are seen), flats fishing excursions are available for those more interested in bone fishing.
Where: The deep waters offshore or the shallow “flats” located in various areas around the island.
Cost: From $700 for half day.

Mangrove Tours
Mangrove Tours
Take a trip to the east side of the island (we recommend doing this in conjunction with an island tour), where you can jump on a panga and paddle through the mangroves, which provide a vitally important ecosystem for the island.
Where: Oak Ridge.
Cost: Roughly $30 per person; haggle for the best price (but keep in mind that this is how people make a living).
Golf at The Black Pearl
Golf at The Black Pearl
What: an 18-hole, par 72, 7200-yard championship golf course offering stunning vistas of the Caribbean from every hole (one of which features one of Dye’s signature island greens). The Black Pearl includes a driving range and a putting green.
Where: Pristine Bay.
Cost: Beginning at $65 for 9 holes; $105 for 18 holes. Club and cart rentals available.
